Ah, spring!

I seem to love spring more and more each year as it rolls around.

I love the warmer weather, the sound of birds chirruping from dawn and the smell of cut grass.

I love the way it makes you feel, like you're ready to conquer the world one lazy brush stroke at a time.

I love that fresh green colour that seems to sprout from every corner of the garden, and the bright colours of the flowers that seem to take forever to grow from when you lovingly planted them way back in July.

No, maybe I don't love spring, it's not the right word.... I adore spring.
------
OK, I've had my little gush about how I am madly in love with my little part of the world at this time of the year, but there are other things that must be mentioned...
  • I've been spinning! Watch this space as there may be something pop up within the next couple of weeks with any luck.
  • I've also been dyeing, so there will be more goodies for those of us who dare to bask in the darker art of spinning! These should appear this weekend if all goes to plan so as to coincide with those lucky, lucky people who managed to get their hands on the Ewe Beaut Sampler boxes - I hear that the first lot were snapped up within 2 minutes!!!

The Christmas countdown...

Before you know it Christmas will be here! I know lots of people are starting to gather a few small things together here and there - and I'm no exception. I'm gearing up for the mad market season with sewing, knitting, spinning and cooking.... unfortunately that means that I cannot accept any more spinning orders at this time - but that's not to say that I won't be spinning something special to sell here.

Spinning is an addiction and a method for calm in my life, so I'll be at the wheel plenty!

Watch this space...

Spring has sprung, the grass is ris...

It looks as though Spring is definitely on it's way down here in the Huon Vally - though it hasn't felt like it at times with all this blasted rain! The sun decided to show it's head today so I took the opportunity to take some photos of my latest spins and to let you all in on something exciting.

Here's "Magnolia Weekends", an 8 ply weight yarn that is destined for a lovely lady in Tas...

... and here's another one of hers: "Love-in-a-Mist", another 8 ply weight yarn

OK, the excitement.... I'm taking part in the Ewe Beaut Fibre Sampler Box this time around. Here's some pikkies of what I'm sending to JD.

Here's the Ewe Beaut Blog address so you can all stalk the next sale. The first one was a roaring success and sold out pretty quickly, so you'll have to be fast when they come up for sale:

Catch a tiger by the tail...

There's new stuff bubbling away this weekend, so a heads' up for everyone that I'll have some new stuff here next week....

In the mean time, here's some silly pikkies of me on our special school safari day for book week "A Book Safari" at school....
Just in case anyone's wondering - I have the bestest tool belt - bull whip (for those pesky tigers), an egg whip (for the eggs, ya silly buggers), and a spatula (be silly to have this without the egg whip dontcha think?).
HOLD THE FRONT PAGE! I do have something woolly on offer... 200gms of 10 ply handspun in the bubblegum colourway:

Here's some of it knitted up in roughly 10X10cm square to show you it might look knitted up:
